Transforming the Rangelands
Nearly 90% of Western Australia is regarded as rangeland - a region historically dominated by the open grazing of native forage vegetation. Extensive areas of the rangelands ecosystems have been degraded by inappropriate land-use.
Economic returns in many areas, and in particular the Southern Rangelands, are inadequate to recover the land or sustain vibrant local communities.

What is biodiversity?
Generations of Western Australians have fond memories of swimming, crabbing, boating and generally enjoying the Swan River. Now, with the river in serious environmental decline, many of these activities risk being consigned to the history books.
